DFW Art Museums

Art lovers such as our real estate agents feel right at home in the Dallas-Fort Worth area since Dallas has the largest Arts District in the United States. Discover DFW's rich cultural community by participating in Go to an Art Museum Day on Wednesday, November 9.

  • Dallas Museum of Art - 1717 N. Harwood, Dallas, TX 75201
For more than 100 years, the Dallas Museum of Art has been the flagship attraction in the downtown Arts District. As one of the 10 largest art museums in the country, the DMA draws upwards of 650,000 visitors each year. Their permanent collection includes more than 25,000 pieces representing 5,000 years of art across all cultures, while they also offer a full calendar of family-friendly classes and workshops so visitors can explore their own creativity. General admission is free but does require an entry ticket that can be obtained online. The DMA is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday except for Friday, with extended hours until 9 p.m.

  • Nasher Sculpture Center - 2001 Flora St., Dallas, TX 75201
As passionate collectors of sculpture, the late Raymond and Patsy Nasher wanted to share their interests with others around Dallas homes for sale. That dream was fulfilled in 2003 with the opening of the Nasher Sculpture Center. The building itself, designed by noted architect Renzo Piano, almost qualifies as a larger-than-life sculpture. Inside the center, more than 300 works represent legendary sculptors such as Calder, Rodin, Miró, and Picasso. Many exhibits feature pieces from the Nasher family collection. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for students with ID, and free for kids under 12. Hours are 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.

  • The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth - 3200 Darnell St., Fort Worth, TX 76107
Despite its name, The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth is the oldest museum in Texas, dating back to 1892. Over time, the mission of The Modern has evolved, and today, they aim to showcase "the most compelling art and ideas of our time." Located in the Cultural District, just minutes from Fort Worth homes for sale, The Modern's collection of paintings, photos, and sculptures includes artists such as Francis Bacon, Jackson Pollock, and Henry Moore. Admission is $16 for adults, $10 for students, and free for kids under 18. Hours are 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday except for Friday, when closing time is 8 p.m.

  • Amon Carter Museum of American Art - 3501 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth, TX 76107
The Amon Carter Museum of Modern Art celebrates the incredible artistic legacy of our own country. View stunning works from artists such as Frederic Remington, Georgia O'Keefe, and Louise Nevelson. Admission is free. The Carter is open 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. - 8 p.m. Thursday, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and noon- 5 p.m. Sunday.
